The British Fashion Council opened its doors today to a crowd of fashion lovers from across the nation as it hosted its first ever London Fashion Week Festival 2017. The event previously referred to as London Fashion Weekend gave designers a platform to showcase their clothing at its new location, The Store Studios, in Central London.
The event provided Fashionistas the opportunity to shop while they browsed through over 150 mini designer stores, as well as the chance to engage with London designers and network with other like-minded individuals.
Rooms were overflowing from wing to wing with exclusive sales on latest designer collections – from women’s and men’s wear to your must have designer accessories. The exciting line-up included the likes of designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Huishan Zhang, Mother of Pearl, Osman, Ducie, Florian, Bad Denim, Alexander White, Georgia Hardinge, Genevieve Sweeney, Tea & Tequila and many more.
Presenting the catwalk show was TV presenter and author, Laura Jackson, who took the crowd by storm with her incredible presenting skills. First trend to march down the runway was the “Micro Floral” – a fresh spring look with a lot of off the shoulder action. The following look was a season’s must have which was the “Ruffles Reinvented” – a very sexy look inspired from Spain, which might just be the go-to look for many stylish ladies this coming spring. Before closing the show the audience were given some tips from celebrity presenter, Laura, on how to rock any look this spring, “ an off the shoulder top with a per of jeans is really nice, or if you want to make it a bit more glam and a bit more red carpet – an off the should top with a floral skirt will be really nice as well”.
Adding to the excitement of the event were industry insider talks presented by a list of fashion experts including Cassie Davies-Strodder, Amy owney, Pandora Skyes and Huishan Zhang; which attendees had the opportunity to sit in.
