Last night Glamour took the city of London by storm as it celebrated the Glamour Women of the year awards 2017. Celebrities gathered in Berkley Square Gardens to celebrate the 14th annual awards ceremony, which was in association with Next. Through its efforts in honoring women across the industry, Glamour took the privilege in presenting the first award to Nicole Kindman – as she was awarded best film actress of the year.
Despite a few Marilyn Monroe (Seven Year Itch) white flying dress moments – all thanks to gale force winds, the A-list celebs showed no sign of concern as they flaunted their stylish springtime attire across the red carpet. Celebrating musicians, writers, designers, entrepreneurs, and athletes, Glamour opened it’s silver gates to welcome celebrities such as Holly Willoughby, Myleene Klass, Rochelle Humes and husband Marvin, Christine Bleakley, Felicity Jones, Anna Kendrick, Jourdan Dunn, Jennifer Hudson and many more.
American actress, Rashida Jones, along with other celebrities showed support for Londoners and those affected by the recent terror events at the awards show. Celebrities tried to remain high-spirited while some displayed a facade of bravery as Nicole Kidman paid respect to “strong Londoners” during her emotional acceptance speech.
In spite of the chaos our favourite celebrities failed not to bring some light back into a rather grim day, as many came wearing bright shimmering garments to the awards night. One celebrity in particular who literally brought the sun with her was TV presenter, Holly Willoughby, who wore a delicate light floral chiffon gown; with her platinum blond hair braided into a loose halo French braid.
It wouldn’t be much fun if we didn’t reveal the names of other winners at the year’s most talked about awards ceremony. In no particular order, the honoring awards were rewarded to, singer, Jennifer Hudson, for best Trailblazer; Sophie Turner for best UK TV Actress, Billie Piper for best Shiseido Group Theatre Actress, Winnie Harlowe for Editor’s Award, Sharon Horgan for best Comedy Actress, Jourdan Dunn for Entrepreneur of the year, Sharon Maguire for best Film maker of the year, Caitlin Moran for Columnist of the year, Maria Grazia Chiuri for Designer of the year, Nicola Adams for W Channel Sportswoman of the year and Tabitha Simmons for Accessories Designer of the year.
